To the Editor:

I would like to send a letter of appreciation to the Grand Lake Metropolitan Recreation District electors who voted for me in Tuesday’s election. I appreciate the time they took to vote and their support.

I would also like to send my congratulations to John Gould and Don Summers. I feel the district has made a good choice and I will support them in their office and offer my assistance as needed.

It is too bad the district only had a voter turnout of approximately 9 percent and that being only 27 percent of the previous election’s number of voters. In Tonya Bina's article it was attributed to there not being any major issue on the ballot, but I would hope the election of district representative would always be consider a major issue, as these individuals will help guide the district over the next years.

Even though I am not totally displeased with the results, as I felt all of the candidates had good credentials and all would have made good board member, I also want to recognize Jeff Hauck and Joe Nesvara for there desire to work as board members for the district. I wish the board my best. I thank the voters for their support.
