Granby's Flying Heels Rodeo off and kicking

Grand County’s rodeo season got off to a galloping start over Memorial Day weekend with two days of action at Granby’s Flying Heels Arena.

The 2008 Flying Heels Rodeo Series held junior and open rodeos on both Saturday and Sunday, May 24-25. Also on hand for the season-opening rodeos were the world-famous Westernaires, who put on spectacular mounted performances for audiences to enjoy.

The 2008 Flying Heels Rodeo Series will hold another rodeo this Saturday, May 31 at the arena on U.S. Highway 40 in Granby. The junior rodeo starts at 3 p.m. with the open rodeo following at 7 p.m.

The local rodeo series plans to stage a rodeo every Saturday through June. The series finale will take place Saturday, July 5, which is the same evening of Granby’s Fourth of July fireworks spectacular.

Along with all the traditional rodeo events, this year’s Flying Heels series will once again be featuring unique special events, musical performances by entertainers and more.

Admission is $10 for adults and $4 for children ages 6-12 and seniors over age 65.
