Grand Lake artist hopes to draw crowds with “Picturing America” art exhibit

Grand County artist and sculptor Howard Neville will provide his insight into the collection of 40 art prints titled, “Picturing America,” at 6:30 p.m. June 24 at the Juniper Library in Grand Lake,

The collection has rotated through the libraries in Grand County, and Neville is hoping to have a large crowd in Grand Lake.

“There are some wonderful little stories that go along with these artists,” Neville said.

Being an artist as well as a retired teacher, Neville said he has insight into the artwork.

The collection is from the National Endowment for the Humanities and ranges from 1776 almost to the present.

Neville said the artists of the 40 prints of American art all interrelate with one another in a special way.

“It's a great way to look back at people who affected us with their art,” he said.

Neville said it is a conservative show and all ages are welcome.
