Visits to Rocky Mountain National Park rise compared with last year

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) - Visits to Rocky Mountain National Park are up so far this year compared with last year.

National Park Service statistics show the park had about 120,000 more visitors through the end of August than during the same period a year ago. More than 2.43 million people have visited the park this year.

In addition, the Fort Collins Coloradoan reports that visits to the park over Labor Day weekend were 9 percent higher than during the same weekend in 2008.
