The Arapaho Chiropractic Center in Fraser has moved from Eisenhower Drive to the Fraser Marketplace building next to Safeway.

Dr. Craig Kozak D.C., D.A.B.C.O said the move made sense for the business' ability to offer a room for physical therapy, as well as existing chiropractic care, acupuncture and massage therapy all under one roof.

“We try to be very integrative,” Kozak said. “And that's one of the reasons we chose this building.”

Right next door to the new Arapaho space is the Fraser Medical Clinic, where Arapaho's chiropractic doctors have shared use of the X-ray.

Downstairs in the Fraser Marketplace, Kozak added, are the optical center and a Curves exercise studio. The four businesses create a multi-pronged health support system.

Having the ability to offer exercises utilizing body weight and natural movements is important for rounding out orthopedic care, according to Kozak. “The goal is to address the issue,” he said, “then maybe through the therapeutic exercise, people can learn things they can do on their own to maintain the gains that they've reached.

“You want your training to mimic as much as possible what you do in the real word,” Kozak said.

The chiropractic practice, which addresses patients' pain and poor function from “nose to toes,” includes Kozak, Doctor of Chiropractic and Certified Acupuncturist Susan Ha, and Certified Massage Therapist Lara Kurtak. Arapaho Chiropractic first opened at the former Eisenhower location about two years ago.

Although chiropractic care has the reputation of seemingly never-ending visits, Kozak said an average number of visits for an average case of a sore back is about less than five. Of course, treatment depends on the severity of the case, he said.

“The way I look at it is if I'm seeing you more than eight to 10 times, we're either missing something, or you did a good job doing whatever you broke. And at that point, we probably need to get some other providers involved,” he said. “The goal is not for there to be a revolving door here.”

The relocated office opened on Monday.

“We're still doing everything we did before, only better,” Kozak said.
