F-16 fighters will fly over Grand County on Tuesday

A five-plane formation of Colorado Air National Guard F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 140th Wing will be conducting an aerial training mission over Colorado, including parts of Grand County, on Tuesday, Nov. 10, according to a National Guard spokesman.

The formation will depart Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, at about 1:30 p.m. and will return at about 3:30 p.m. The training mission will occur across a large section of our Colorado's airspace, but not over densely populated areas, according to the Guard.

"The 140th Wing strives to always be a good neighbor to our fellow Coloradans," said Brig. Gen. Trulan A. Eyer, 140th Wing Commander. "We do our best to mitigate aircraft noise, and to keep our neighbors informed.

“We apologize for the inconvenience but truly appreciate your support and understanding as we need to be always ready to perform our mission anytime, anywhere," he added.
