The National Sports Center for the Disabled has launched a new fundraising and social networking website for its members, supporters and the public website selling photo products related to adaptive sports.
Think Big Solutions of Denver created www.NSCDphotos.com as a way for nonprofits to raise funds and increase awareness of their organizations.
Individuals and supporters have the opportunity to create calendars, posters, greeting cards, prints and the like by choosing among photos of adaptive skiing, biking, climbing, rafting, horseback riding, basketball and baseball or by using their own photos. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from the site go directly to NSCD programs.
“The Think Big Solutions not only generates new funds for our organization but it also expand our social marketing initiatives,” says Rachel Hirt, NSCD marketing director. “Our organization's supporters or the general public can create and order a personal photo memory products then post the branded images to popular social sites like Facebook and MySpace.”
“I started Think Big primarily as a print provider,” said Shawn Allison, president of Think Big Solutions. “When the NSCD asked for help producing images of their athletes I wanted to help. I am an avid skier and have always been in awe of the athletes and of the NSCD.
“Out of that conversation Think Big Photos was born. Everyone at Think Big is excited about working with the NSCD and other nonprofits,” Allison added. “In this economy, it is nice to be able to support organizations doing such great work.”
The National Sports Center for the Disabled provides high quality outdoor sports and recreation programs, many of them in Winter Park, in over 20 sports that positively impact the lives of people with physical or mental challenges and help them to achieve their goals and learn skills that lead to greater success in academic, professional, and personal endeavors. More than 23,000 lessons were provided in 2008, according to the NSCD.
