GRAND LAKE - After a sold out grand opening weekend, Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre debuts its second production for the summer season with the Broadway classic Guys and Dolls.
Considered by many to be the perfect musical, Guys and Dolls follows a cast of vivid characters straight out of the hustle and bustle gambling world of 1920s New York. This entertaining story of high-rolling crapshooters and their "dolls" features some of the greatest hits ever produced on Broadway, including "Luck Be a Lady," "Bushel and a Peck," and "Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat."
"What better way to celebrate our season than by treating Grand County to one of the greatest scores in the history of American theater," says Michael Querio, artistic director. "This is one musical that will thrill audiences of all ages."
Featuring RMRT alums Christina Myers as Miss Adelaide and Josh Kellman as Nathan Detroit, and presenting newcomers Candice Bondank (Sarah Brown) and Joe Carroll (Sky Masterson), patrons returning to Grand Lake are guaranteed a hilarious night of musical comedy, featuring some of the best voices to grace the RMRT stage.
Guys and Dolls opens at 8 p.m. Friday, June 17, with a second performance at 8 p.m. Saturday, June 18, and runs until Aug. 18. Select tickets are still available for both performances this weekend, and can be purchased in person at the new Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre, or by phone at (970) 627-3421. Ticket holders are encouraged to arrive early to the theater and enjoy a glass of wine or beer as they explore the spacious new lobby at RMRT.
