On Wednesday, Nov. 2, U.S. Forest Service crews will continue burning slash piles created from the Upper Fraser Valley Forest Health Project.
Crews will move to piles along Ice Hill Trail near U.S. Highway 40, across the highway from Idlewild Campground. This unit contains approximately 500 piles on 10 acres. Portions of this trail may close during burning operations for public safety.
Burning elsewhere around the Sulphur Ranger District will continue through December as conditions allow. Wind, fuel moisture, staffing, and snow cover all play a factor in where and whether ignition occurs.
