Grand Angels is an all-volunteer Grand County team who manage the TCP Food Bank in Grand Lake and a hotline for struggling neighbors who need a hand up through a difficult time. Through their interaction with these neighbors and referrals and networking with other Grand County organizations, the Angels developed a project to target children "at risk" and named it GRAND KIDS. The primary focus is to feed the kids who are hungry.
Once the children's food, shelter and clothing needs are met, the project focuses on programs that build character, integrity, confidence and teamwork skills to help them grow into good neighbors and citizens for the future.
The Grand Angels NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS mission statement is "no neighbor, especially a child, should go hungry whether it be for food, education or opportunities to maximize their potential."
his grant will go a long way toward helping achieve this mission.
In 2011, the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation awarded $500,000 in grants to 100 charities serving 30 U.S. states and 10 countries.
