Fall operations at Winter Park Resort will be closing Sunday, Sept. 23.
The resort plans to open for the winter season Nov. 14.
During the down time between the summer and winter seasons, the resort will be preparing for the upcoming winter season.
The resort has already begun clearing trees that fell last winter and will continue to cut trees on a total of 71 acres.
The resort plans to resume cloud seeding operations in conjunction with Denver Water in November as well.
Cloud seeding is the process of intentional weather modification in which substances such as silver iodide or dry ice are dispersed into the air to change the amount or type of precipitation that falls. The aim is to bring some early and extra snow to the resort.
Winter Park will also be adding a new Tube Park for the upcoming season, which will have four lanes, a conveyer belt lift, and a warming structure. The tubing hill will open in December and will operate into the evenings.
The resort also plans to replace two grooming machines or Snowcats and new rental gear will be available this winter as well as an additional 70 ski lockers.
