Winter Park athletes excel at Aerial Selections event

Two Winter Park athletes had amazing performances at the 2012 US Aerial Selections Events held Dec. 21 and 22 in Park City, UT.

Erin Griss, 14, and Nik Seemann, 15, both competed with double flips at the US Aerial Selection event and finished amazingly for both events.

The Aerial Selection events boast all World Cup athletes from both the US and Russia.

Erin finished 9th place overall on the first day of the two day event and placed 7th place overall on the second day of the event. Erin performed her new jumps for this year; a Back Full and a Lay Tuck double back flip. Erin's amazing performances earned her to be named to the World Cup Aerial Group and will be competing for the U.S. at the Deer Valley World Cup this February.

Nik finished 15th place overall on the first day of the two day event and placed 8th place overall on the second day of the event. Nik performed his new jumps for this year, a Lay Full double back and a Full Full double back. Nik's excellent performances will allow him to forerun the aerial event at the Deer Valley World Cup this February.

Both Athletes trained hard all summer in Steamboat, CO, and Park City, UT, to refine these new jumps on water and their hard work is starting to pay off.

Erin and Nik will compete next at the Nor Am aerial event in Park City, UT, Feb. 7,8 and 9. Lets wish them both good luck!
