RMRT's Youth Theatre Workshop Program is gearing up for registration in 2013, after a wildly popular summer in 2012.
Last year, RMRT had over 120 youth in the program on its brand new stage, and each workshop filled to capacity within the first day of registration. Rocky Mountain Rep is urging parents to register early on the mornings listed. The registration dates are on a first come first serve basis by phone at 970-627-5087 or 970-627-8173, or in person at the RMRT Administrative Office at 404 Vine St., Grand Lake, starting at 8 a.m. All of the necessary registration forms are available online at www. rockymountainrep.com. The dates for registration are:
• April 17 : Teen Theatre Academy (13-18 years old)
• April 18: Youth Theatre Workshop (7-9 years old)
• April 19: Youth Theatre Production (10-12 years old)
RMRT's 2013 Youth Theatre Workshops consist of 3 different programs:
• Teen Theatre Academy (13-18 years old)- $260
Director: Joel Ewing
This intensive three-week program focuses on developing the craft of a creative artist. The program is looking for teens with all talents: musicians, painters, poets, singers, etc. Training in the area of monologues, scene study, audition technique, stage combat, dance, vocal study, and creative writing will be conducted by RMRT professionals. This program will also focus on preparation for high school and college theatre study. The workshop will culminate in three Cabaret-style performances including original material generated by the participants. The workshop dates are: July 22-August 11
• Youth Theatre Workshop (7-9 years old)- $210
Director: Clark Ausloos
This two-week workshop is geared toward introducing and practicing the basics of theatre. Learn what it takes to put on a show using Broadway song, dance, lights and music taught by our professionals at RMRT. This workshop is sure to spark an interest in the arts for a lifetime. This workshop is designed to offer age-appropriate vocal, acting and dance coaching and will conclude with three performances of Broadway song and dance. The workshop dates are: July 9- July 21
• Youth Theatre Production (10-12 years old)- $235

Lights, music, show time! This three-week program is devoted to producing a full length theatrical show. The RMRT acting company will teach audition techniques, stage blocking, prop and set creation, and performance skills, resulting in three public performances of the production. The production this year will be Best of Both Worlds. This modern-day meets fairy tale musical will delight the participants and audiences alike! The workshop dates are: July 15-August 4
