Safely discard unwanted prescriptions at drug takeback slated for Saturday

Turn in your unused or expired household prescription or over-the-counter medication for safe disposal.

The Grand County Sheriff's Office in conjunction with Fraser/Winter Park Police, Granby Police, Kremmling Police, Grand County Public Health Department, Grand County Water Quality and the DEA will be holding a Drug Take Back day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 27 at three locations in Grand County: The City Market in Granby, Alco in Fraser, and The Kremmling Mercantile in Kremmling. This is the time to clean out any old or unused medications and dispose of them in a safe manner.

The following items will not be accepted: Needles and sharps, mercury (thermometers),

oxygen containers, chemotherapy or radioactive substances, pressurized canisters, and illicit drugs.

Representatives from the police departments and the Sheriff's Department will be on-hand to answer questions at each site. For more information, call the Grand County Sheriff's Office at 970-725-3343.
