New small business development center to open in Kremmling

KREMMLING — The town, Kremmling Area Chamber of Commerce, Northwest Council of Governments and Northwest Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) has announced a joint partnership that will bring the SBDC’s experience and resources to Kremmling.

The Northwest SBDC team is opening a satellite office in the Kremmling Visitor’s Center. The Kremmling Chamber’s executive director, Christine Mahorney, is becoming a certified business consultant, and will serve as a co-host of the program and as an onsite resource.

“This is an exciting opportunity for both current and prospective business owners in West Grand county,” Mahorney said. “We hope business owners will take advantage of the deep resources that will be available through the SBDC.”

The SBDC helps businesses achieve their goals by providing free, confidential counseling and various training programs.

“We are just getting started but already we have created strong partnerships with business throughout Grand County. We can’t wait to meet more,” said Lindsey Stapay, Northwest SBDC director.

The SBDC combines information and resources from federal, state and local governments with those of the educational system and the private sector to meet the specialized and complex needs of the small business community. Regulatory, management, financial and marketing experts work in partnership to provide entrepreneurs with crucial information that can mean the difference between success and failure.

The Town of Kremmling worked extensively with the Northwest SBDC to bring the satellite center to Kremmling.

“This was a direct response to the community’s request for additional business and economic resources in our area,” said Kremmling town manager Mark Campbell. “We are fortunate that the Northwest SBDC chose Kremmling to open a new center.”

An SBDC consultant will be at the Kremmling Visitor’s Center monthly to meet with business owners about marketing strategies, contract negotiations, sales process to financial systems. The SBDC also has vast online resources for businesses to tap into at http://northwestsbdc.org/grow-your-business/
