To the Editor:
I enjoyed your column in the Friday, April 18, paper. Your story reminded me of my Dad.
He was part of the Greatest Generation and he was not pleased when plastic bags came out in the 1980s. When the poor cashier would ask him if he wanted paper or plastic, he would give her a lesson on how plastic was made from oil, which was not a renewable energy source (no more dinosaurs to make our fossil fuels) and that “we can always plant more trees.”
Anyway, perhaps we can come up with a campaign to “Save the Dinosaurs – Don’t use Plastic Bags.” Kind of catchy, don’t you think? Thanks for the article.
