Hospital district seeks board member letters of interest

KREMMLING — The Kremmling Memorial Hospital District seeks to appoint a board member to fill a vacant seat.

Board secretary and treasurer Christina Whitmer has submitted her letter of resignation, effective immediately. The Board will consider interested board member candidates at its special meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Middle Park Medical Center conference room, 214 South Fourth Street, Kremmling.

Interested candidates must be a Kremmling Memorial Hospital District resident. The existing four members of the KMHD Board of Directors will appoint the successful candidate to a two-year term, which will conclude at the general election in 2016.

Qualified candidates will be asked to:

Participate as part of the five-member Board of Directors team meeting monthly (3 to 4 hours monthly);

Receive board member training (4 to 6 hours annually);

Engage in strategic planning (8 to 10 hours annually);

Participate as a chair of a board subcommittee (1 to 2 hours monthly);

Assist in community outreach and engagement;

Learn and understand special district requirements and participate in board governance;

Assist in establishing policy and participate in hospital oversight;

Learn and understand health care delivery and obtain basic understanding of federal and state rules and requirements of critical access hospitals; and

Assist in progressing the hospital district’s aim of providing high-quality patient and employee experiences.

Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest and qualifications to Executive Assistant Sherri Solawetz via email to sherrisolawetz@mpmc.org or in person to 214 South Fourth Street, Kremmling.

Letters of interest should be received by noon on Thursday, June 12. Candidates who submitted letters of interest prior to the Board’s May 28 monthly board meeting will be considered in this board vacancy and do not need to resubmit their letter.
