It’s the time to meet people county-wide from chambers of commerce, towns, government entities and organizations that sponsor events and activities. These sessions are scheduled twice a year, spring and fall, to promote communication in our rapidly changing county through knowledge of people involved. People meet to announce plans for the upcoming season and connect names with faces. They exchange addresses and phone numbers and learning who to call to get things done.
This interaction has been helpful to the development of the county, and is hosted by Young Life at Crooked Creek Ranch, the Grand County board of commissioners and The Travel Society travel agency. This fall’s event will start at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the main dining hall at Crooked Creek Ranch.
It will include a networking services fair of local valley businesses, including printers, computer consultants and DJ services. Six booths will be available throughout the session, where participants can speak individually with these providers.
Participants are encouraged to come prepared with schedules and handouts for about 60 people and to bring business cards. Each participant has only three minutes to speak, and hosts will make a presentation during the program. Allow at least 1.5 hours to speak with interested attendees after presentations. Event organizers suggest limiting representatives to a maximum of two per organization. Those wishing to be added to the mailing list, or looking to sponsor an upcoming network session, should contact Diana Lynn Rau of the Travel Society via telephone at 970-887-3095, fax at 970-887-3086, email at firstname.lastname@example.org or post at PO Box 757, Fraser, CO 80442.
