Grand Lake will hold a Community Engagement meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16 in the Grand Lake Community House at 1025 Grand Avenue. The town’s community engagement committees, which include Branding, Marketing, Design, Economic Development, Funding, Steering and the Grand Lake Creatives, will provide updates on their progress over the past year. Brief presentations will also be provided by Grand Lake’s Town Manager, David Hook, and the new Executive Director of the Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce, Samantha Miller.
The various committees were formed last March during the Downtown Assessment conducted by Downtown Colorado, Inc. The committees have been meeting once or twice a month with the overall goal of enhancing the Grand Lake experience for the town’s residents, visitors, second home owners, and businesses. There is still an opportunity for members of the community who haven’t joined a committee to get involved and help make a difference in Grand Lake’s future.
Some of the highlights of the meeting will include the unveiling of Grand Lake’s new brand, and a schedule of potential events coinciding with the Rocky Mountain National Park’s 100th anniversary in 2015. There will also be committee breakout sessions in which people can learn more about the workings of the various committees and get involved. Snacks will be provided.
