Grand Lake Items

E . H . Kauffman went down to Nederland last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. J. L . Ish are beautifying the grounds around their hotel (The Rapids). Mrs. Ed Smith and baby are visiting friends and relatives in Hot Sulphur Springs. Our school will close this week, Friday, and the children will enjoy a day of sports and picnic, Saturday, providing the weather man is kind enough to send a sun shiny day.

Upper Blue River Smiles

Archie Palmer is working on his ditch this week. Say, the Blue River people got some storm Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. George Marcott came home from Dillon Saturday afternoon. Mr. Couch has put in the telephone poles from Palmer’s to the lookout station. Messrs. Wheeler and Palmer have cleaned Mr. Palmers part in the Palmer and McKinley ditch. Roy James, who is working at the Palmer ranch, was ill one day last week and they could not think what was the matter with him till it rained, Saturday, and he got his feet wet, when he recovered at once. They know now what was the matter.

Fraser Notes

All mills running with a full crew, and 40,000 feet is an average day cut at the new Stevens Barr mill. P. W. Wessel is busy installing a bath at his summer resort near Fraser. This feature will make the resort modern in every way. Our school year ended on Friday last, with Loutie Pruter and Sylvia Smith graduating, the exercises being held at Hot Sulphur Springs. Fraser is proud indeed of her two representatives as they carried the highest averages of the county.
