Post Prom event seeks donations
Ryan Summerlin March 26, 2013
Prom season is right around the corner with Middle Park High School’s scheduled for April 27. Prom is a major event in the life of every high school Junior and Senior (remember yours?) and it is no different for Grand County’s teens. Planning what to wear, who to take, the music and the theme can take months to plan. Unfortunately, all of this excitement is too often clouded by the antics that can take place “post prom.” It is with this in mind that several parents came together years ago to create an after prom party for MPHS students. Post Prom is designed to give the kids an event to continue the fun and revelry in a safe, drug and alcohol free environment.
Post Prom has been a huge success in the past because of a healthy budget that is used to provide a venue, entertainment and some really fabulous gifts for a drawing that provides prizes (and a bit of an incentive) to all that attend. The funds for this budget rely totally on the donations from the business community and its members.
The 2013 MPHS Post Prom Committee has, to date, received about 20 percent of the past budget. The Post Prom Committee is a non-profit entity functioning under the exemption status of East Grand Schools, ID# 98-00162 and is asking for your help in the form of cash donations or prizes. Please send your donations to MPHS Post Prom at PO Box 574, Winter Park, CO 80482. If you have questions, please contact Ann McConnell at 970-531-0610 or Debbie Harris at 970-531-7670.
