Rock Altar available to the community
Ryan Summerlin November 8, 2012
Stillwater Community Chapel has built and dedicated an outdoor Rock Altar. It is available to people of all faiths for prayer and remembrance. In the Old Testament of the Bible, Rock Altars were often built as places for worship and were to be permanent reminders of God’s faithfulness and provision. Placing a stone on the Rock Altar represents a prayer brought to God for His attending; a tangible example of our prayers and requests. There are many stressful concerns in Grand County communities, including school closures, wildfires, elections, and economic uncertainties. The Stillwater congregation invites members of the public to stop by and place a stone on the Rock Altar, which is located above the upper parking lot.
