The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle injury accident that occurred on U.S. Highway 40 at the intersection leading into the Granby City Market area.
On Fri. Aug. 15, a 2001 Dodge Durango driven by Donna Victoria, 22, of Tabernash was traveling westbound on U.S. 40 when she attempted to turn onto Thompson Road. When she did so the Durango collided with a 1994 Chevy Camaro driven by Denis McCarthy, 72, of Grand Lake
McCarthy and a 70-year-old female passenger riding in the Camaro suffered serious injuries, according to the State Patrol.
Victoria did not receive any injuries related to the crash. Two female and two male passengers riding in the Durango with Victoria received no injuries or only minor injuries.
The accident partially closed the standard access to the City Market shopping complex for more than an hour while traffic was rerouted to a dirt road south of McDonald’s.
Victoria was charged with careless driving causing bodily injury.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered a factor in the crash, according to the Patrol.
