BLM seeks comment on commercial recreation permit applications in Grand County

The BLM is seeking information that the public feels would be useful to the agency as it considers the following applications.

Specialty Sport Ventures LLC, dba Gore Creek Flyfisherman, has applied for a one-year permit renewal for float and wade fishing activities on the Upper Colorado River.

Atmore Outfitters has applied for a big game hunting multi-year permit renewal with modification. The company proposes to add overnight camping northeast of Kremmling near Troublesome Creek.

American Whitewater has applied for a one-time event permit for the Gore Canyon Race Aug. 27-28 between the Confluence of the Blue and Colorado Rivers and the Pumphouse Recreation Site. Land-based festival activities will take place on private land at Rancho del Rio this year.

The America Cup has applied for a one-time event permit for the FIPS-Mouche Fly Fishing World Championship Sept. 14-16. The event is mostly on private land around Vail, but does include small isolated parcels of BLM land near Spring Creek Road.

The Eagle Valley Trout Unlimited has applied for a permit for a fundraiser fishing tournament Sept. 25 between Pumphouse and State Bridge. The permit would be managed as a multi-year permit for an annual fishing event.
