Economic Development launches new campaign

Grand County Economic Development is bringing a new campaign to promote businesses and foster local entrepreneurial pride.
On Thursday evening, Nov. 14, the department launched “i am Grand,” encompassing locals’ thoughts on why they live, work and play in Grand County. The campaign falls under the umbrella of economic development’s Grand for Business program, which connects local business owners to resources and works to attract more economic activity to the county. Through 2014, the county would like to grow “i am Grand” into a branding tool businesses can use for their products and services, similar to the “Colorado Proud” logo created by the state’s department of agriculture.
“Our goal is to celebrate our entrepreneurs’ spirit and tell other people about it, so they can understand why we’re in Grand County,” said Economic Development Coordinator DiAnn Butler. “Once we have a sense of why we’re here and why we love it, it’ll help other people decide to join us.”
Butler has included a video explaining the campaign on their website, www.grandforbusiness.com. Businesses wanting to add their voice to “i am Grand” through testimonials can contact Butler at firstname.lastname@example.org or 970-725-3129.
