Colorado Gives Day
Ryan Summerlin November 30, 2012
On Tuesday, Dec. 4, donors and ordinary citizens come together to raise millions of dollars for Colorado nonprofits. Donors can easily and safely give online at www.GivingFirst.org to the nonprofits of their choices, in any amounts. Last year, in the 24-hour period of Colorado Gives Day, a remarkable $12.8 million was donated and distributed to nonprofits throughout Colorado.
Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, everyone gives through the website www.GivingFirst.org. On this day, 100 percent of donations go directly to nonprofits selected by the donors themselves. In addition, on Dec. 4, the FirstBank Incentive Fund will increase the value of donations.
To manage the computer system during this busy time of giving, donors may schedule their donations in advance for Colorado Gives Day. Go to www.GivingFirst.org, and quickly and easily search for Grand County, choose the nonprofits you’d like to give to, and and schedule your gift in advance.
Every nonprofit listed on the website has submitted to rigorous inspection for authenticity, financial stability, and other quality controls. Each nonprofit presents information, financial records, photographs, and their mission to help the public better understand their goals and purpose.
Grand County nonprofits participating in Colorado Gives Day include Advocates Victim Assistance Team, Grand Foundation, Grand Lake Area Historical Society, Middle Park Land Trust, National Sports Center for the Disabled, The Shining Stars Foundation and more.
Learn more about Colorado Gives Day and Giving First from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Cozens Ranch Museum in Fraser. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to explain the Colorado Gives Day.
