Local performer Mann releases seventh album

Peggy Mann, singer and songwriter of Grand County, has been performing in the area for 20 years. Now, she will be performing her brand new CD “Don’t Waste Time,” June 21 and 22, at the Grand Lake Community House in Grand Lake. The initial CD release concert on June 21 sold out in only four days, so Mann will be performing a second concert on Sunday June 22 with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 7 p.m. These concerts will be held to mark the release of her new CD.
“What makes this last CD more interesting than the rest is who I recorded it with,” said Mann. Mann recorded her new album, her seventh, in Nashville, with critically acclaimed producer and songwriter Monty Powell. Powell has worked with other artists including Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, and more. Powell took on Mann’s project after hearing her at a songwriter’s workshop at C Lazy U.
“The session players who were all from Nashville so appreciated Peggy’s professionalism, her talent, and were very moved by her music,” said Mann’s friend and pseudo manager/agent Sara Moran. “Relating to an audience is a must… Peggy gets that and is a master at that connecting.”
Tickets to the June 22 concert are non-refundable and can be purchased for $25 each. Seats are held with the payment, but there is no reserved seating. Refreshments such as wine and beer will be sold at the concert sponsored by the Grand Lake Rotary Club, and the proceeds will go to the Youth Theatre of the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre in Grand Lake. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Sara Moran at Lucycally@yahoo.com, Or call Moran at 970-627-9447.
