GRANBY -One of the summer’s two rodeos at the Flying Heels Arena in Granby takes place May 26 and 27.The Junior Rodeo starts at 11 a.m., and the open rodeo at 1 p.m. with slack after open rodeo. The rodeo is free of admission to the public on both days.The Westernaires will be performing during the open rodeo, and a new event is being added this year – local’s barrel racing, which is Wyoming Rodeo Assocation co-approved. Skip Kallsen will be announcing during the two-day competition.Entries for all events are from 5-9 p.m. on Monday, May 21 (call or online), with callbacks from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23. Intermediate 9-13: Barrel Racing $10, Pole Bending $10, Goat Tying $10. Senior 14-18: Barrel Racing $15, Pole Bending $15, Goat Tying $15, Tie Down Roping $15, Girls Breakaway Roping $15, Team Roping 18 & under $20 (enter 2x). If event is not offered in age group, contestant can move up to next age group to compete.
