Grand County 4-H Update

Enrollment is in full swing for the 2012 to 2013 4-H year. Re-enrollments will be taken until March 1, for all returning members. New member enrollment will be taken until April 15.
School Enrichment Program
We have plant science kits for sale for use in elementary classroom for a minimal cost. The kit consist of a tulip bulb, soil and clear plastic container for kids to watch and monitor root and plant growth. We also have lessons that go along with the kits. The kits will be ready for use Jan. 14, and will make a great Valentines Day gift. If any teacher or home school parents are interested please contact Caitlyn at the Extension Office for more information.
Jan. 18, 4-H Day at the Stock Show
Fifteen members and parent will be traveling to the stock show on Jan. 18, to look at the livestock, exhibits and watch the after-noon performance of the rodeo. They will be joining other 4-H member from around the state for 4-H Day.
Jan. 25, Beef Tag in for Fair from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at the Fairground in Kremmling.
If you are taking a beef project this year for fair you must be enrolled in 4-H and have dues paid before tag in.
Jan. 26-28, Colorado 4-H Leadership Development Conference
Members from Grand County will be attending the conference to learn new leadership skills and visit the State Capitol and meet with legislators.
Feb. 1, is the deadline for registration for District 11 and 12 Leadership retreat.
The retreat is March 1-3 in Glenwood Spring, 4-H member ages 10-18 may attend and should contact the extension office for more details.
