Grand County Nonprofit of the Week
Ryan Summerlin December 6, 2013
Established in 1979, the Mountain Family Center has been serving the Grand County community by addressing hunger and providing assistance to help cover basic needs. Between January and October of 2013, the Center provided food to more than 3,000 people living in Grand County through programs such as local can drives. By partnering with other agencies throughout Grand, the Grand Foundation is able to fully serve the community. Currently, Mountain Family offers the following programs and services: two food banks (Granby and Kremmling), a Summer Food Program for children 18 and younger, Totes/ Mountain Food Packs School Program serving 275 children on a weekly basis, and rent, mortgage and utility assistance. Stop by, bring a can of food, and get a personal tour of the Center’s new office space in Granby, or visit the Center’s website to see the services they provide. www.mountainfamilycenter.org
