It’s time to get behind the Highway 9 project
To the Editor,
I am writing this letter in support of the Project for a Safe Highway 9.
The obvious benefits of this project are safer roads for drivers, safe crossings for wildlife, a wide shoulder for cyclists and emergencies. These things alone make the project highly attractive. But, it is my opinion as a business owner and a resident of Kremmling that this project, upon completion, will have a substantial economic benefit for Kremmling and Grand County. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a new gateway into our town and re- brand our image. Recently we had professional consultants visit our town and suggest ways to improve economic conditions. A solution is right here in front of our face, now it’s up to us. How many times will our community get a $5 million contribution toward a $46 million project improving a road that we all know is dangerous? This stretch of highway is a vital link to Summit County and I-70 for commuters, businesses and tourists. Please take the time to check the website, www.grandfoundation.com and donate what you can to this very unique and worthy project.
