Candidate calls out opponent for lack of response
To the Editor:
I just finished reading the candidate responses to the very thoughtful and thorough questionnaire sent by Sky-Hi News. As a candidate, I have responded to many of these questionnaires, and do so willingly because voters are entitled to know my views on issues of importance to them. I try to be as honest as possible so voters will know my basic approach to the issues that may arise during the next two years.
I learned in today’s paper that my opponent, Adam Ochs, has declined yet again to share his views on issues with voters, citing a general policy of not answering questionnaires. That strikes me as an odd way to run for office. He is asking voters to go on a blind date with him, which might be fun for an evening if you went in separate cars and could leave when you want to. But voting for someone to cast votes on your behalf at the legislature is more like a two year marriage than a date.
The voters of Grand County may not agree with all of my answers to the questions. But at least you know something about me. If you wanted information about something not in the questionnaire, just email me at RepClaireLevy@gmail.com and I will try to respond in a timely manner.
