The cost of freedom
We all know that our freedoms in the USA come at a cost to us, freedom is not free. It must be appreciated, it must be fought for and it must be protected with life itself. America works because of the rule of law. The American citizen is protected by the fact that each one of us is presumed innocent of any and all crimes and must be proven guilty. Many countries work the other way around, guilty until proven innocent, but not in America. The Constitution of the United States and the Bill of rights define the protections that we all enjoy and likely under appreciate. The American citizen is specifically endowed with the right to keep and bear arms and the vast majority do so and commit no crime. Firearms actually stop crime not make it worse. As tragic as the mass shootings of the last 20 years or so are they are statistically insignificant to the overall accidental death rate in the USA. I have not personally experienced the horror of losing a child to a mass shooting. We cannot pre judge the American firearms owner by supposing that any and all might stage a mass shooting or that certain types of firearms are bad. We cannot presume the American firearms owner to be guilty until proven innocent. These shootings are committed by sick, angry or radical people. We need to deal with the people issues not by degrading your constitutionally given right to firearms ownership. The second amendment to the US Constitution guarantees that power over bad and evil government remains with the people. Mass shootings as tragic as they are, are the cost of our freedom, we can never stop all mass murderers even if we trample the constitution in the process. Vote to preserve the Constitution, not to degrade it as has happened under the past few administrations. Unfortunately we are in a dumb and dumber situation where neither candidate deserves election. Vote to preserve your constitutional right to keep and bear arms, vote Trump/Pence.
