Richard B. Leinbach: Nov. 29, 1926 - June 20, 2014

Richard B. Leinbach, 87, was a year-round resident of Grand Lake, Colo., before moving to Arvada, where he died after an extended illness.

Born and raised in West Reading, Pa., Richard attended Kutztown University where he obtained his Baccalaureate degree in art education and met the love of his life, Cleta, who preceded him in death in 2011.

He obtained his masters and Ph.D degrees in art education from Penn State University. He taught high school art and shopped at Harriton High School in Philadelphia and later taught design, perspective and history of furniture at Penn State University and Eastern Michigan University.

He loved life in Grand Lake, surrounded by the beauty of nature and special friends. He was very active in the Grand Lake community as a dedicated volunteer at the Kauffman House/Grand Lake Area Historical Society and actively involved with the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre and his church, Trinity Church in the Pines. He also served on the board of Columbine Lake for many years. He and Cleta were honorary members of the Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club of Grand Lake. He recently enjoyed his new friends at the Meridian of Arvada, Colo.

He honorably served in the Army and was stationed in Okinawa late in World War II.

He is survived by sister Mary Lou (Bob), daughters Karen and Susan, grandchildren Jeffrey, Alison and Christina and numerous grand pets.

Private internment at Fort Logan National Cemetery with a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Sept. 13, at Trinity Church in the Pines in Grand Lake.
