Sandra A. Schneller
Sandra A. Schneller, 79 of Grand Island, Neb., died March 23, 2013, at home with her family by her side following a courageous battle with cancer.
Celebration of life service will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at North Shore Assembly of God in Hastings, Neb. Reverend Chris Johnson will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Hastings.
All Faiths Funeral Home of Grand Island is serving the family.
Sandra (Sandy) was born April 18, 1933, at Beatrice, Neb., the youngest of five children of Martin and Mildred (Tewell) Trindel.
She is survived by her husband Ben; daughters, Melissa Williams of Grand Island and Cynthia (George) Schroeder of Valley, Neb.; step-children, Daniel (Elaine) Schneller of Grand Lake, Colo., Benjamin Schneller of Chandler, Ariz., and Lynette Schneller of Broomfield, Colo.; brother, Kent Trindel of Winnsboro, Texas, and sisters, Jan Winters of Irving, Texas, and Barb (John) Simoni of Homewood, Calif.; grandchildren, Brandon and Emily Williams, Cody and Erika Williams and Travis Williams; great-granddaughter, Kennedy; step-grandchildren, Elijah, Ben, Andrew, Kayla, Martin and Oliver and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin McDaniel; daughter, Beckie McDaniel; son, Farley McDaniel; her parents and sister, Gail Cole.
Sandy was raised and received her education in Beatrice where she graduated from High School in 1951. She attended Park College in Kansas City. She was united in marriage to Melvin McDaniel in 1955. They lived in California before moving to Hastings in 1969. She worked for Central Community College in Hastings before transferring to the Grand Island Campus in 1978 working as a registrar, retiring in 1989.
On Sept. 9, 1989, she married Ben Schneller. They lived in Grand Lake, Lake Granby and moved to Grand Island in 2008.
Sandy was an avid reader, loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed attending grandkids activities.
