Obituary: William (Mr. Bill) Davidson, 1925-2013

William Davidson, 88, of Grand Lake, passed away on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, of natural causes.
Bill was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 1, 1925. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and also served in the Auxiliary Coast Guard for many years. He was honored for his military service by Honor Flight Northern Colorado in April, 2010, along with many veterans who were flown to Washington, DC to visit their WWII Memorial and receive special recognition. He also enjoyed serving on the Columbine Water Board for many years and being a part of the Columbine and Grand Lake community. Bill and his wife Winnie moved to Colorado in 1976, settled in Grand Lake in 1977, and owned and operated an A&W Restaurant in Granby until they sold it in 1994. In retirement, they enjoyed traveling around the country in their RV.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Winnie Davidson, his son Randy Davidson (Gina), his niece Donna Hurley, Grandchildren Jason Davidson (Stephanie) and Great-Grandchildren Isabella, Landon, and Logan, Julie Myers (Jason) and Great-Grandchildren Wyatt and McKenzie, and family members, Dianne Hyatt, Frank Scott (Diane Phillips), Gary Hoffpauir (Shirley), Mitch Hoffpauir (Shirley), Becky Brown (Charlie), Glenda Waldrep (Joe). Many dear friends and neighbors have been an important part of Bill and Winnie’s life and are appreciated.
Cremation has taken place and no memorial service will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Grand County Humane Society and the Dumb Friends League.
