Letter: Sheriff Johnson thanks Grand County community

To the Editor:

I want to thank all the people of Grand County for the opportunity to have such a rewarding career serving as your Sheriff. I am humbled to have been entrusted to hold such an important office, knowing the level of responsibility and leadership it takes to maintain the Office of Sheriff for any length of time, let alone 21 years. There are many times you have to rely on your integrity to do the right thing, knowing it is not going to be popular.

I want to especially thank my wife Vicki of 41-plus years for the all the help and support she has given me considering the many nights and weekends I was gone. I want to thank my two sons and three granddaughters for all the support they gave me as well.

I wish Brett Shroetlin and his new administration the best success possible as Grand County deserves nothing less.

I will always think of Grand County as the greatest place to live with the best people. Thank you very much!

Rod Johnson
