Thanks community for Grand Gala success
To the Editor:
Devil’s Thumb Ranch provided a majestic venue for the 12th Annual Grand Gala. Tempting auction items, live music and delicious dining gave the perfect touch for the annual black tie fundraiser. Guests moved throughout the venue utilizing three of the Ranch locations for silent auction, dancing and complimentary beverages. Some guests moved their feet to one of Denver’s favorite bands, “That Eighties Band” in the Broad Axe barn, while others enjoyed a quieter atmosphere in the Ranch House Restaurant swaying to the tunes of our own local favorite Gary Key.
More than 330 guests in attendance helped raise nearly $150,000 which will be used to improve the quality of life for residents and guests in Grand County. Proceeds directly benefit Grand County nonprofits through Grand Foundation grants and programs. Secondary beneficiaries, Grand County Pet Pals, Mountain Pet Rescue and Adventure Education were also chosen to receive funding.
Each year the Grand Gala Committee awards scholarships to graduating seniors from East and West Grand School Districts. This year three graduating seniors were chosen to receive these funds; students who exemplify outstanding community spirit and a strong sense of volunteerism and philanthropy.
The Grand Foundation and Gala Committee owes a debt of gratitude to the sponsors, donors, volunteers and owners and staff of Devil’s Thumb Ranch who help direct the flow and success of this event each year. Without their support and dedication this event would not be possible.
