To the Editor:
Diversity and acceptance makes Grand County the special place it is.
How many times have you heard people take pride in how diverse our county and towns are? We enjoy people from all kinds of backgrounds, beliefs, and income levels.
In Grand Lake we are proud to care for some of our “characters.” They make Grand Lake, Grand Lake.
Our county steps up to volunteer, donate, serve, and help those who are going through rough times without asking questions about their sexual orientation, personal habits, or other lifestyle choices.
We see a need and respond with love and whatever it may take to help. We do not ask for recognition other than knowing the joy of helping another person. “We love one another.”
We should celebrate our differences and not contribute to any sources of division because of political beliefs.
The incredible Constitution of the United States upholds the idea of working for the common good and not for the rights of just a few. Diversity has made our county, but even more importantly our country, great. Let us celebrate that.
