Rosene announces bid for re-election
March 10, 2014
Grand County’s clerk and recorder Sara Rosene is declaring her candidacy to continue in the position.
“Serving the citizens of Grand County as county clerk has been a great honor for me” states Rosene in a Feb. 26 press release. Rosene has served in that office since January of 1991.
“The laws affecting all aspects of the county clerk’s office have changed considerably over the last few years. It is a wonderful time to be part of local government, the grassroots of our democracy,” she said.
Rosene serves on the Election Certification Committee, which was formed by legislation passed in the 2005 Legislative Session to ensure the formal education of county clerks and election staff on federal and state election laws.
The Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Revenue appointed Rosene to the Colorado State Titles and Registration System Advisory Committee, of which she is now the chair. This statutory committee oversees the budget of the motor vehicle statewide computer system.
Over the years, Rosene has served as President of the Colorado County Clerk’s Association, co-chair of the County Clerk’s Legislative Committee, member of the License Plate Advisory Committee, member of the Motor Vehicle Statute Review Committee, and chair of the Help America Vote Act Clerk and Staff Education and Certification sub-committee.
Rosene lives in Kremmling with her husband Rich. Their two adult children were born in Kremmling and graduated from West Grand High School and the University of Colorado in Boulder.
Rosene currently serves on the Altar Guild of Trinity Episcopal Church in Kremmling, as member and past president of the Kremmling Rotary Club, and secretary of the Grand County Historical Association.
