Trail of the Week: Lake Evelyn trail
Ryan Summerlin July 3, 2014
Lake Evelyn trail is located on the west side of Byers Peak. It is a gorgeous 2.5 mile moderate hike through the Byers Peak Wilderness that leads to the pristine lake. Lake Evelyn is a peaceful lake surrounded by trees and has great opportunities for fishing. The trail crosses both Keyser Creek and Evelyn Creek and has views of Byers peak all along the trail. This trail needs an adopter that likes to get out and hike. Contact Erica Bean, the Adopt-A-Trail Coordinator for Headwaters Trails Alliance for more information about how to adopt this trail or others throughout the county.
