WINTER PARK — With the snow (finally) disappearing, Winter Park Resort will open for summer operations this Saturday, June 14. The busy weekend includes the opening of Trestle Bike Park, base activities including Colorado’s longest Alpine Slide, and the annual Winter Park Chocolate Festival.
Trestle Bike Park will open for the 2014 summer season with terrain for riders of all ages and abilities. If you’ve never tried Trestle’s gravity-fueled fun, Winter Park is offering a brand-new Adventure Plus pass, featuring a Trestle 101 lesson, bike rental from the largest fleet of rental bikes in the U.S., lift ticket, and a choice of three other activities including the Alpine Slide for $139.
In addition to Trestle, the Winter Park base will be abuzz with a full slate of family-friendly activities, including the Alpine Slide, Leaps & Bounds Bungee, the human maze, GyroXtreme, Bouncy Snow Cat, climbing wall, mini-golf, and scenic chairlift rides on the Zephyr Express.
The Village at Winter Park will also be hopping with the annual Chocolate Festival on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring fine chocolates from over 20 confectioners, contests for the kids, and live music.
