The lake trout are starting to move a little deeper, they are starting their summer transition. They are still biting well on crank baits, spoons and spinner trolled with lead core, wireline or down riggers. An assortment of plastics 2-6” are working for the “jiggers,” tip them with a little piece of sucker meat to get more bites. While the lakers are moving deeper the brown trout are fishing very well early, late and on windy afternoon. Crank baits are working during low light hours and jigs have been working well during the sunny times of the day. Rainbows are in the inlets hitting bait, flies and small tube jigs. The rivers are high but the fish are still eating, fish close to the bank and in the deepest holes you can find.
