Steube named Realtor of the Year

GRANBY – Loyal Steube has been named the 2012 Realtor of the Year by the Grand County Board of Realtors.
Steube is the immediate past president of the board and was named Realtor of the Year for his knowledge and participation in both the real estate community and the community at large.
“Loyal has great Realtor spirit and is always very willing to share his knowledge,” said Debra Brynoff, Executive Officer for the Grand County Board of Realtors.
Steube and his wife, Phyllis, make up “The Steube Team” at RE/MAX Peak to Peak, and have been residents of Grand County for seven years.
Steube worked in the corporate world in numerous positions and locations before deciding to settle down in Grand County for the outdoor activities and the lifestyle. The Steubes also chose Grand County due to the area not being overgrown commercially and the reasonable distance to their daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren who live in Rogers, Ark.
Things have been picking up for the Steubes this year, following the recession.
“All of us Realtors have been affected by it,” Steube said. “My wife and I have been very busy this year and we are very grateful for that.”
Steube has enjoyed the transition to real estate from the corporate world and says that meeting people and learning the ins and outs of the real estate business have been enjoyable experiences.
“Everyday is a new challenge and you meet someone new every week,” Steube said.
Steube explained how fun it is to meet the people who are moving up here and to learn what each family and individual is looking for when they are looking for property in Grand County.
Steube mentioned that he has recently seen an increase in the number of people who are looking to move to Grand County full time, something that, Steube says, is needed and welcome in the county.
Attending Realtor meetings at the local, state, and national level have allowed him to meet interesting people while enabling him to learn from other Realtors’ knowledge, experiences, and expertise.
Steube went on to comment on how much he enjoys serving on the board of directors for the Grand County Board of Realtors.
“Being on the board of directors has been a great experience in seeing all of the different ways they get involved in their communities,” he said. “Realtors are a special group of people.”
